The 100 Day Project: Trinket Dishes
This collection of 100 ceramic dishes was created during lockdown. I created one per day, for one hundred days. Each dish is totally unique in design. They’re all roughly the same size and were made using the same weight of clay. Designs were created using just one object for all the marks…a twig, a shell, my fingers etc….but only one tool on each dish.
By making little and often I remained engaged in being creative. Setting myself the challenge to use only one tool per dish gave me the push to explore what marks and decorations I could make, without everything becoming a series of dishes with identical dots on.
This was my second time undertaking a 100 day project – the first being Drinking Vessels. You can view those vessels here.
Product information:
Each piece has been fired in an electric kiln to 1250 degrees centigrade. All dimensions and weights are approximate. All dishes are glazed on the inside only, with the exterior being unglazed. We recommend protecting surfaces you place this item is placed on.
Please note that all of my pieces are handmade and one of a kind, therefore minor imperfections may be present in the form, texture, colour and markings created during the making process – these add to the character of each piece, and makes each piece unique. Bases may not be completely level which reflects the handmade quality and the processes undergone through firing in the kiln.
To preserve the beautiful glaze we advise handwashing items only. Glaze is food safe.
